Not giving Juror #2 a wide theatrical release is another crime we can add to Warner Bros.’ prestigious repertoire because even at 94, Clint Eastwood still has it. A gripping and engrossing examination of Eastwood’s long-running infatuation with guilt, justice and the limits of American law, turning the courtroom drama on its head with a fantastic script from Jonathan Abrams, the suspense is simply unbearable at times.

Eastwood’s direction is in spades here, all backed by a very captivating score from Mark Mancina, but it’s really the performances that had me reeling throughout the film. Nicholas Hoult never overplays the torment bubbling beneath the surface, expressing the inner panic to the viewer but not to others around him.
Simmons deliver equally fantastic performances, although honestly I’m a little disheartened that Kiefer Sutherland’s role was so limited
K. Like the gunslingers of his past, if Juror #2 ends up being Eastwood’s last film (as horrible as that thought is), then the man has gone out in a blaze of triumphant glory.
