After creating the bootable USB drive, restart your computer and boot from the USB drive. SATA as AHCI, ACPI as S3, LegacyUSB as ON, UEFI boot as OFF (on some motherboards this can cause a freeze at Boot0 error) and remove all unnecessary USB devices except keyboard and mouse.

Installing to an external volume will most likely fail because external volumes are now owned by root when booting from a USB drive. If you press 6 for a second, the Clover bootloader will load – instead of the default Chameleon bootloader.
This distribution supports MBR, so you can erase the first partition as “Mac OS X Extended (Journaled)” and install without erasing all data
